For professional cleaners around the world, the CINET Global Best Practices Awards are a BIG deal. This year’s event, presented virtually November 4 – 5 from Amsterdam, focused on a high standard of quality, new business services, innovation and sustainability in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.
We’re thrilled to announce that Oceanside Cleaners took first place. Twice!
Judged by an independent, international jury, we were awarded “Best Overall” retail cleaners globally (among small and medium-sized businesses)—making us the first North American company to win the top prize. We were also awarded “Best of Country” for the United States.
CINET, the international umbrella organization for professional textile care, organizes the awards program as a way to showcase and demonstrate the latest standards of excellence in advanced and modern professional textile care. All CINET members and stakeholders worldwide are encouraged to participate in the event by nominating extraordinary companies for the awards.
The GBPA 2020 jury noted that Oceanside Cleaners stood out based on “its supreme sustainability, quality and services.”
In this truly international awards program, we were honored to be nominated along with a list of 120 exceptional businesses from 36 countries, including Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Korea, Malaysia, Moldova, North Macedonia, Northern Ireland, Paraguay, Poland, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Spain, Thailand, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, the United States and Wales.
Admittedly, receiving this global recognition came as a big surprise to us. At the same time, we take enormous pride in knowing that every member of the Oceanside team is genuinely focused on helping our customers, supporting our community and improving the world in which we live. Every one of our employees, for example, is trained on Oceanside’s “C.A.R.E.” mission statement:
C – Customer Centric
A – Attention to Details
R – Respect our Community
E – Empower One Another
Our quality control approach focuses heavily on creating a healthy work culture and well-trained team, which in turn drives high-quality control for our customers. Every garment that comes into our facility, for example, is handled by 13 separate employees, with awareness of quality control at every stage. At any time, all employees are empowered to send a garment to another department if it needs attention, whether for spotting, alterations, or pressing.
And when it comes to sustainability practices, we’re going all in! Our wetcleaning process is 100% eco-friendly according to the EPA of the state of Florida, with cleaning systems and equipment that conserve water use. We allow zero regulated contaminants on-premises and satisfy all OSHA requirements.
Our dry cleaning processes are eco-friendly, too. By maximizing weight per load, we maintain proper water retention in all laundry for a high-quality finish, while minimizing the number of dry clean loads. Maximized dry clean loads produce cleaner garments and efficient use of hydrocarbon solvent.
